biography
Barbara is fortunate to be living her dream as an artist. She had formal training at a classical realism school. It was at that time her love of pastels developed and went on to work in that colorful medium for nearly twenty-five years. After training she wanted to experiment with more imaginative art. She began with a series of whimsical chairs, continuing on that path she created the likes of quirky frogs, ducks and people. It was magical.
Another dream of Barbara's was to illustrate children’s books. What fun to create characters and develop a whole book from cover to cover. After more than a decade she felt it was time to close the chapter on illustrating and try something new, a medium she was not familiar with - watercolor. She enrolled in a botanical watercolor class and found she loved learning about plants and flowers.
About the same time another interest came to the surface, sculpting birds in paper mache with paper cut feathers. What a joy to sculpt beautiful birds, capturing their graceful lines and colors.
A favorite time for Barbara is to be in her studio working on a bird or botanical art and listening to a good book or music.

You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.
